Welcome to Malaysia

Those who know Malaysia, love Malaysia - why? Experience Malaysia’s sights and sounds for yourself and don’t just see what WE say, read or watch what some of our visitors say about Malaysia!

Malaysia is celebrating it’s 50th birthday in 2007 and plans to party all year round! What is a party without friends, new and old, so come on over and join us - invite your friends.

Malaysia is one of the most pleasant, hassle-free countries to visit in southeast Asia. It's buoyant and wealthy, and has moved towards a pluralist culture based on a vibrant and interesting fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs.

Malaysia's love of Western-style industrialisation is abundantly clear in its big cities. Aside from the gleaming glass towers of the 21st Century, though, Malaysia boasts some of the most superb beaches, mountains and national parks in Asia.
You're going to have sunshine and sweat pretty much whenever you visit. It's best to avoid the November to January rainy season on peninsular Malaysia's east coast if you want to enjoy the beaches.....CLICK HERE to know more about beautiful Malaysia and her friendly people.

What are travel insurance and travel accident insurance and what do they entail?

Travel insurance is insurance that is intended to cover financial and other losses incurred while travelling, either within one's own country, or internationally.

Travel insurance can usually be arranged at the time of booking of a trip to cover exactly the duration of that trip or a more extensive, continuous insurance can be purchased from (most often)[travel agents, travel insurance companies or directly from travel suppliers such as cruiselines or tour operators.
The most common risks that are covered by travel insurance are:
•Cancellation
•Curtailment
•Delayed departure
•Loss, theft or damage to personal possessions and money (including travel documents)
•Delayed baggage (and emergency replacement of essential items)
•Medical expenses
•Emergency evacuation/repatriation
•Overseas funeral expenses
•Accidental death, injury or disablement benefit

•Legal assistance
•Personal liability and rental car damage excess
•Loss of income

Some travel policies will also provide cover for additional costs, although these vary widely between providers.
And in addition, often separate insurance can be purchased for specific costs such as:
•high risk sports (e.g. skiing, scuba-diving)
•travel to high risk countries (e.g. due to war or natural disasters)
•pre-existing medical conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes)

Generally, therefore travel insurance covers a traveler's vacation cost against cancellation and interruption while also providing medical, lost or damaged property and travel delay coverage. Travelers are reimbursed if they have to cancel or interrupt their travel. They are also covered should the need arise for emergency medical treatment, medical evacuation and a number of other benefits.

Among many insurance companies, an example is The International Medical Group's (IMG) Patriot family of travel medical insurance which is designed to meet the needs of all people traveling outside their country of citizenship. It provides multilingual customer support and an onsite 24 hours per day - 7 days per week Emergency Medical Staff. The Patriot plans provide coverage for a minimum of 10 days up to a maximum of two years.

Travel and it's various modes

Travel is the transport of people on a trip/journey or the process or time involved in a person or object moving from one location to another. There are many reasons for travel. The following are some of the major ones:

1)Tourism—travel for recreation. This may apply to the travel itself, or the travel may just be the necessary investment to arrive at a desired location.
2)Visiting friends and family
3)Trade
4)Commuting–going to various routine activities, such as work or meetings.
5)Migration—travel to begin life somewhere else; nomadic people do this
6)Pilgrimages—travel for religious reasons
The word originates from the Middle English word travailen ("to toil"), which comes from the French word travailler ("travail").
